Product Description 2x4 Automatic Gate Latches are designed for out-swinging doors and gates where the latch strike is attached to a 2x4. Strike has narrow shape ideal for 2x4 installation. Gate Latch Bar should be mounted to gate or door. Can be used for left or right hand installations and can be used with a padlock for security. The small pre-drilled hole in the release lever is for rigging a cord (included) that would release latch from opposite side of gate. Must drill a hole through post for rigging cord installation.
